Wine and food pairing – How to enjoy Disznókő’s most popular wines?
Already dreaming of your warm-weather sips? Disznókő wines bring you joy throughout the sunnier seasons. Whether you’re planning a barbecue with friends or celebrating a significant family event, it’s worth considering wine and food pairings as well. What do we recommend our most popular wines with? In this summary, we give you some tips.
How to choose?
During the summer break, we have more time to spend with our loved ones and ourselves, which means more opportunities to have intimate conversations or read a good book with a glass of wine. Once we have our favorites, the question is which ones to choose and how to serve them.
It’s always good to have an excellent white wine at home since almost every family has someone who prefers it to red wine. Disznókő Furmint is perfect for conversations and pairs well with light fish dishes, so it’s worth getting a few bottles for the terrace season.
Special occasions deserve a more complex and elegant wine, such as the extremely rare, vineyard-selected 6 Puttonyos Kapi Aszú, made only in exceptional years. It’s a celebratory wine that provides the most memorable experience when savored on its own after dinner.
Temperature matters!
When hosting, paying attention to the temperature at which we serve the wine with the meal is essential. Improper temperature can detract from the wine’s enjoyment value! While white wines should always be served at a lower temperature than red wines, it’s essential not to over-chill them, as this will cause the wine’s aroma and flavor to be muted.
Never chill wine in the freezer! Not even for a few minutes! Instead, choose a wine cooler filled with ice cubes and water, in which the wine intended for consumption will gently and relatively quickly reach the desired temperature.
Wine and food pairing – What do we recommend our most popular wines with?
Traditionally, wine and food pairing with aszú was limited to foie gras or dessert, even though it is an incredibly versatile wine with a delicate balance of sugars, acids, and alcohol, making it perfect to pair with main courses.
Special occasions deserve a more complex and elegant wine, or even a wine such as the extremely rare, vineyard-selected 6 Puttonyos Kapi Aszú, which is only made in exceptional years. It’s a celebratory wine that provides the most memorable experience when savored on its own, after dinner.
